Four engineering subjects ranked in world's top 100

Waterloo Engineering made the world’s top 100 in four of five subjects covered by the 2017 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) university subject rankings released this week.

Architecture, chemical engineering, civil engineering and electrical engineering at Waterloo all ranked between 51 and 100 worldwide, with mechanical engineering cracking the top 150.

QS logoOther engineering disciplines at Waterloo weren’t among the 46 subjects ranked by the UK company.

In the overall category of engineering and technology, one of five broad subject areas evaluated by QS, the University of Waterloo ranked 60th in the world.

Campus-wide, the University had 13 subjects in the top 100, including three in the top 50.

The annual rankings, which include 1,117 universities, are based on research citations and global surveys of employers and academics.
