Thank you for applying to Waterloo Engineering!
We are excited to review your application to join us here at the University of Waterloo.
We are interested in learning more about the demographics of those who apply for positions in the faculty. This information is voluntary to provide and will be anonymous. It will NOT be associated with your application.
There are five questions to this survey.
Why are we doing this?
A goal of Waterloo Engineering is to have a mixture of faculty that reflects both the diversity found in Canada and our student body. Having a diverse staff and faculty underlies several of our current strategic goals as outlined in both the Engineering Strategic plan for 2020-2025 and Waterloo Strategic plan for 2020-2025.
The first step to increase the diversity of our staff and faculty is to understand the demographic makeup of the applicants we have for our openings. This collected data will be used to help us understand what audiences our job postings are reaching, and help inform what steps we need to take to ensure future postings reach a large diverse audience as possible.
The information you provide will help us improve our efforts to create an application pool rich with diversity.
Results of this survey will only be shared in the aggregate. The individual responses will only be viewed by myself, Martin Scherer, Faculty Recruitment and Equity Officer. No names, IP addresses, or other identifying information will be collected. The data collected will be destroyed shortly after the application period closes for the job.
Thank you again for taking the time to apply to Waterloo Engineering, and for taking the time to complete this survey. It's through gathering this information we can continue our work to increase the diversity of our faculty.
