Ski lift at Osler Bluff Ski Club


Waterloo Engineering and Waterloo Architecture alumni, join us and your fellow classmates for the annual Waterloo Engineering Alumni Ski Days - the event is now over two days for double the fun - with the first day being at Alpine Ski Club and the second day at Osler Bluff Ski Club. The Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Health and the Faculty of Science will be joining the outdoor fun so come to ski or snowboard with your classmates and make it a memorable day on the hills to make the most of our beautiful Canadian winter.

Ascot Hall - Home Base at Alpine Ski Club

Our home base for ski day on Thursday is Ascot Hall! This is where you can pick up your lift tickets, mix and mingle with classmates, access facilities, eat snacks or a meal (cash bar available), and store your gear.

The Café will be open all day for you to purchase breakfast, lunch and snacks at your leisure. Lunch seating times will be assigned when you arrive to avoid long lineups. 

Brown Bagging is allowed in the café so feel free to bring your own lunch and snacks!

  • Brown bagging is allowed at Alpine Ski Club so feel free to bring your own lunch.
3:30 p.m. Lifts close.
3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Après Ski reception in Ascot Hall where door prizes will be awarded and complimentary snacks will be served. Cash bar available.

Please note: Half-day lift tickets are not available at Alpine Ski Club. 

Interested in a lesson?

Alpine Ski Club will be offering a complimentary beginner lesson for our group:

  • 10:30 am: Complimentary Beginner group lessons (1 hour). Meet the instructors (wearing their navy blue jackets) at the top of the beginner/magic carpet area.

Private one hour lessons will be available on a first come first served basis at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Those interested in a private lesson will need to go to the lessons desk. The lessons desk is located on the ground floor of the Clubhouse inside the Programs and Events Office.

Equipment Rental

Each guest is responsible for bringing their own equipment or paying for their own rental equipment. Visit Squire John's to book your ski or snowboard equipment online. When booking equipment online, please use the date "Thursday, January 23" and the location "Alpine Ski Club" or "Friday, January, 25" and the location "Osler Bluff Ski Club" and group name "Waterloo Alumni" (both dates).

Rental bookings need to be completed at least 1 full day before your scheduled ski date. For example, if your ski day is on a Friday, your rentals need to be booked by midnight Wednesday. Equipment cannot be rented the day of the event if it is not reserved by the deadline.
