Roadmap to graduation

    1. Dec
      1. December: Receive an invitation to the Calling of an Engineer

        You will receive an invitation email in your inbox for the Iron Ring Ceremony (IRC).

  2. 2025
    1. Jan
      1. January 1: Check that your enrollment will satisfy degree requirements

        Please take the time to ensure that your course enrollment will satisfy your degree requirements.

      2. January 6: Apply to graduate

        If you expect to graduate in June 2025, you must formalize your request by submitting an Application to Graduate by March 1, 2025.

      3. January 6: Come size your pinky finger

        In preparation for the IRC, there will be finger sizing set outside of POETS in CPH for 4B students to presize their pinky finger.

      4. January 8: Attend the 4B Kickoff Event

        You will receive an invitation to attend an evening 4B kick-off event in the E7 event space (2472). Come join your fellow 4B students as we launch your final term and provide some information about the coming events!

      5. Janaury 13: Register for The Calling of an Engineering Obligation Ceremony

        Online registration for the is open from January 13th to January 23rd. There is a $30 fee that must be paid to register. Graduates will have the option to add their preferred name when registering.

        Please note that Camp 15 is a separate not-for-profit organization that is not part of the Faculty of Engineering, or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or Engineers Canada. Camp 15 is organized and operated by a group of volunteers who work together to perpetuate this Canadian tradition.

      6. January 23: Come to the Ring Fitting

        Attend a ring fitting session in the E7 event space (2472). You must be registered ahead of time. Please bring your WatCard and keep to the assigned time for your program.

      1. February 2-7: Participate in Dis-Orientation Week 

        Some venues are licensed, opportunities for high and low intensity.

        Hosted by GradComm at various locations.

        We started our university careers by being "oriented" (albeit online) and now it's time to get "dis-oriented". Get ready for a full week of evening activities including: Sunday Night Phil's, dodgeball, Drag Show, DUSTED, Prank Night, and the end of the infamous Countdown to IRS. Tickets will be available to fourth year students for purchase in the first few weeks of the Winter 2025 term. We are looking for student reps from each class to help organize! 

      2. February 8: Attend The Calling on an Engineer Obligation Ceremony (IRC)

        The Obligation ceremony will be held in Federation Hall. Please keep to the assigned time for your program and bring your WatCard.

        BMH 1689 has been reserved for guest observers due to limited space in Federation Hall.

      3. February 8: Come out to the Iron Ring Shindig

        Venue is licensed, high intensity event.

        Location: Maxwell's Concerts and Events

        GradComm is throwing this little "shindig" on the night of IRC to celebrate getting our iron rings.  Come dance the night away and touch the Tool for the first time! Tickets for this event will be available early in the Winter 2025 term and come with the classic, black IRS Shirt featuring a callback to 2025 Orientation and "Ringed" in lettering on the back.

      4. February 25-26: Get a Pint with a Prof

        Venue is licensed, opportunities for high and low intensity.

        Location: Grad House

        GradComm is hosting the greatest networking opportunity EVER! Have a pint with your favourite professors at Grad House and pick their brains about research, jobs, and the cutting edge in their field. 

    3. Mar
      1. March: Attend the Capstone Design Symposia

        Participate in your Capstone Design Symposium.

      2. March: Receive an invitation to your class toast

        You will receive an invitation from your advising team for the Grad Toast for your graduating class.

      3. March 6: Come to the Ring Refit

        If you are unhappy with the fit of your iron ring, attend the ring refit event from 4 to 6:30 pm in E5 3102. Anyone who has lost their ring can get a replacement (for $30 cash). Please bring your WatCard for identification.

      4. March 8: Attend Grad Ball

        Venue is licensed, opportunities for high and low intensity.

        Location: St. George Banquet Hall

        Did you miss your high school Prom because of COVID? Well GradComm has got you covered! GradBall is our grown-up version of a formal prom-like event featuring a seated dinner, dancing, photo booth, and a special performance from the engineering jazz band With Respect to Time. Tickets will be available to fourth year students in early February.

      1. June 10-14: Participate in Convocation Ceremonies

        Spring 2025 Convocation takes place from June 10 to June 14, 2025. Check the convocation website for the date/time of your ceremony.
