A non-degree is a temporary status indicating you're enrolled, but not a part of any academic plan that would lead to a degree. Credits you earn can still count towards a degree. There are several reasons you might be enrolled in a non-degree term. Such as:
- Facilitating a transfer to another program.
- Retaking courses before continuing to the next academic level.
- Taking a strengthening term prior to proceeding to next academic term.
- Taking electives when off-sequence.
- Taking courses to meet requirements for an additional credential.
You can arrange for a non-degree term by completing a Plan Modification Form.
- Complete the front requesting the Engineering Non-degree program and filling in the reason for the non-degree term (e.g., Non-degree term to transfer into the Faculty of Science).
- Complete the "courses required by admitting department" table on the second page of the form.
- You must build your own conflict free schedule using the Schedule of Classes. (Also check the Calendar for course descriptions).
- Submit the form to your academic advisor.
