- Engineers Canada divides course content into six categories: Math, Natural Science, Engineering Science, Complementary Studies, and Other.
- An Accreditation Unit (AU) is an Engineers Canada measure of contact time: 1 AU per lecture hour; 0.5 AUs per lab or tutorial hour.
- Engineering is required to ascribe AUs to courses taken by Engineering students, including courses taught by other faculties. Typically, courses from the Faculty of Mathematics would be 100% Math AUs, courses from Faculty of Science would be 100% Science AUs, and courses from Faculty of Arts would be 100% Complementary Studies AUs.
- For more information about a course including prerequisites and antirequisites see the Undergraduate Calendar.
- Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) has different professional accreditation requirements.
- Instructions for navigating this dashboard can be found below.
How to navigate the dashboard
The dashboard has three types of slicers:
- The first type is the "Select Course Subject(s)" panel that allows you to slice the table down to certain course codes. Multiple course codes can be selected. To reset the slicer, click on the eraser button on the top right of the panel.
- The second type includes three slicers, "Search by Course", "Search by Title", and "Search by Term". These three slicers allow you to slice the table down by text inputs in the column "Course", "Title", and "Term", respectively. There are two wildcard characters, '?' to match any single character, and '*' to match multi-characters. To reset the slicers, click on the 'X' button at the end of the text input area.
- The third type includes six widgets, each one of them slices the table by setting the ranges of the proportions for their respective AU categories. To reset the slicers, click on the eraser button on the top right of the panel.
The resulting table will satisfy all conditions set by the slicers above.
