A project led by a Waterloo Engineering lecturer has received almost $55,000 in backing from a provincial program created to grow and advance virtual learning in post-secondary education.
Nadine Ibraham, the Turkstra Chair in Urban Engineering and a lecturer in civil and environmental engineering, leads a project called Enabling the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges for Educators.
Funding from the provincial Virtual Learning Strategy program will be used to develop six digital learning modules for engineering educators.
Aligned with the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges initiative, the modules will cover: resilient infrastructure; access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy; access to safe water in all communities; inclusive, safe and sustainable cities; inclusive and sustainable industrialization; and access to affordable and inclusive STEM education.
Collaborators on the project include Christine Moresoli, a chemical engineering professor at Waterloo, and John Donald, a professor at the University of Guelph.
