Faculty member Mary Robinson has been appointed as Waterloo Engineering’s inaugural associate dean of outreach, equity and diversity in the Faculty of Engineering.
The new position incorporates the current outreach portfolio, along with two new ones – equity and diversity.
Robinson is a continuing lecturer and currently serving as the Faculty’s associate director of first year. An alumnus of Waterloo, she graduated with her BASc in 2002 and her MASc in 2010, both in chemical engineering. She also completed a certificate in university teaching at Waterloo.
In making the announcement about Robinson’s new role, engineering dean Mary Wells said she brings a tremendous amount of experience and passion to it.
“I am looking forward to welcoming her to our Faculty of Engineering leadership team and working closely with her,” said Wells.
Robinson starts the new role for a three-year term on May 1, 2021.
