Hydro One has announced a new partnership with the University of Waterloo, Ryerson University, University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Western University to increase enrolment and career opportunities for female students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Waterloo Engineering’s Dean, Pearl Sullivan, and Associate Dean of Outreach, Mary Wells, were on site at Ryerson University for the announcement this past Friday. The $1.4 million investment will help partner institutions develop new outreach activities, provide support mechanisms to enhance the success of female undergraduate students, and create supportive networks for female graduates.
By leveraging the expertise and leadership from each of the partner Universities and Hydro One, the goal is to increase the number female engineering students and graduates over the next four years. [news release]
