Management Engineering students capture awards at national competition

Waterloo management engineering students placed in three of the four competitions at this year's Canadian Institute of Industrial Engineering Student Conference held at Ryerson University in January.

Third place in the Consulting Case Study Competition was awarded to

ME students
students Scott Walton, Kamal Aman, Jared Evans and Kiran Turna. This year the study involved streamlining patient flow and waiting times in the Toronto East General Hospital emergency department, green zone.

In the Technical Paper Competition second place honours went to student Nikita Ajit Kumar for her paper on improving inventory control for food service promotions. Kait Parks, Ariana Rodriguez, Aby Ali Mahmoud and Zahra Bodla were awarded third place in the Theoretical Competition that involved participants writing a general examination that challenges them to apply their academic skills and knowledge.
