Following up on comments made by Donald Trump in a presidential campaign debate regarding the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA),

both the New York Times and BNN reached out to Jim Bookbinder for his input on the consequences proposed.

In the BNN interview Bookbinder, a management sciences professor and the director of  the Waterloo Management of Integrated Manufacturing Systems (WATMIMS) research group, explains the complexities involved in making changes to NAFTA. Bookbinder presented the auto industry as a prime example of how operations in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico are interconnected.
