Initially unsure if she was suited to academics, a new doctoral graduate at Waterloo Engineering will officially prove herself wrong when she collects her PhD at fall convocation ceremonies on Saturday.
Dr. Jacqueline Noder, who previously earned her master’s degree at Waterloo, learned to appreciate technologists and other supporters in the machine shop while working towards a doctorate in mechanical and mechatronics engineering.
“Experimental work plays a major role in my research and having people in the lab who can help you with equipment - it’s so valuable,” she said.
“The dynamic nature of the University, working with the students and the involvement through co-ops. It was a pleasure to be a part of it, and I’m looking forward to continuing my research.”
