A professor and a doctoral candidate at Waterloo Engineering won a best paper award at a top international computer vision conference last week.
John Zelek, a systems design engineering professor and co-director of the Vision and Image Processing (VIP) Lab, shared the honour with David Abou Chacra, a student in the lab, for a paper called The Topology and Language of Relationships in the Visual Genome Dataset.
The paper was presented at the 1st Workshop on Vision Datasets Understanding, which was held in conjunction with the 2022 Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition conference in New Orleans.
