Beesley has been named one of three finalists for the 2022 Partnership Award, one of 12 impact awards granted by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). He is one of three finalists selected for this award by a national jury.

Professor Philip Beesley is a finalist for the 2022 Partnership Award granted by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Beesley is widely cited as a pioneer in the expanding fields of interactive systems and responsive architecture. He currently serves as the director of Living Architecture Systems Group (LASG), an interdisciplinary consortium that brings together researchers and industry partners to create living, adaptive and empathic architecture. Supported in part by the SSHRC, LASG disseminates its work through exhibitions, publications and events.

“The Impact Awards finalists embody the very best ideas and research about people, human thought and behaviour, culture and society, and more,” said SSRHC’s president Tim Hewitt in a media release. “They help us understand and improve the world around us, today and into the future.”

Award winners will be announced on Dec. 1.
