The recipients of Waterloo Engineering's teaching, research and staff excellence awards were announced today by Dean Mary Wells.
In a memo to engineering faculty and staff, Wells said she would like to "thank all our award recipients for their inspiring work and ongoing dedication to the faculty."
The winners listed below will be recognized officially at the Engineering Faculty & Staff Awards Dinner in early 2023.
Pearl Sullivan Outstanding Staff Teaching Award
- Kate Mercer, liaison librarian, systems design engineering and biomedical engineering
- Charles (Kim) Pope, electrical and computer engineering
Outstanding Staff Performance Award
- Kari Griffiths, engineering advancement (administrative staff category)
- Shelley Vossen, management sciences (administrative staff category)
- Dave Walsh, engineering computing (technical staff category)
- Mahindra Sangaranarayanaiyer, systems design engineering (technical staff category)
- Jennifer Howcroft, systems design engineering
- David Mather, mechanical and mechatronics engineering
- Andrew Morton, electrical and computer engineering
- Elliot Biro, mechanical and mechatronics engineering (assistant professor category)
- Vijay Ganesh, electrical and computer engineering (associate professor category)
- Omar Ramahi, electrical and computer engineering (full professor category)
En-Hui Yang Award

The faculty's Excellence in Graduate Supervision award recipients are in the process of being selected and will be announced later this year.
