We would like to introduce one of our amazing Waterloo Engineering Student Design Teams, the UW Baja SAE team!
The UW Baja SAE team is designing, building, and racing an off-road race car for a 2023 competition. The team is made up of a dedicated admin team and more than 100 passionate members!
What project(s) is the design team currently working on?
Currently, we are working on finishing a rolling chassis! Hopefully, we can mount our powertrain and test the vehicle shortly after.
What competition(s) has/have the Team been a part of recently or in the past?
The team has competed in the past, most recently in 2019. The team was disbanded after that. After restarting the team in 2021, we are aiming to compete in 2023.
What are the benefits of being part of a Student Design Team?
Experience and knowledge! It is super important for engineering students to learn to apply their course knowledge and gain new hands-on skills. It is also a great way to make new friends!
