Students and alumni are invited to participate in an exclusive Office Hour with engineering alumnus Mike Lee (BASc '88, Mechanical Engineering), the president of and president of R&D Partners.

During this office hour, Mike Lee will outline his career path from Waterloo Engineering to and R&D Partners by way of KPMG Consulting and BCE. He will talk about current and future funding opportunities for start-ups, as well as the state of future start-up funding in Canada. Join fellow alumni and students for this virtual Office Hour to get advice on your career, ask questions, and get to know an executive at an award-winning online funding company. Please bring your questions!

Mike Lee is president of - an award-winning online funding tool - and R&D Partners – a leading R&D funding consultancy. Previously he was Director of Corporate Finance and Development in the BCE group where he led several successful R&D software firm acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to that, he was Manager, Strategy and Technology Services at KPMG Consulting, where he successfully managed business development and consulting teams in technology sectors. Mike began his career as a project engineer working for multinational firms on R&D and expansion projects.

Mike has a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from the University of British Columbia, and CFA designation. He serves on the board of directors of several not-for-profit organizations. He is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec and the CFA Institute. Mike has received awards from CFO Canada, the Bronfman Foundation, and Startup Canada.
