Shark Bite Brownies

The motivation of this event is to decrease taboo around discussing periods and start conversations. We are using free brownies as a way to bring people together to have these discussions. The use of the shark concept is the comparison of how menstrual cramps can feel like a shark is attacking your uterus; the shark bite is simple imagery that all genders can use to identify, imagine and empathize.

Waterloo Engineering Alumni Reception at Microsoft in Seattle

Waterloo Engineering alumni are invites to reminisce about the University of Waterloo, network with classmates and fellow alumni, and hear first-hand what’s happening on campus from Paul Fieguth, Department Chair, Systems Design Engineering.
 
Drop by for a few minutes or stay all evening - this FREE event is open to all engineering alumni and current engineering students living or working in the Seattle area. Food and drinks will be provided and there will be prizes to be won

Engineers Without Borders Public Lecture and Reception

The co-founders of the world-renowned humanitarian organization Engineers Without Borders, George Roter (BASc 1999) and Parker Mitchell (BASc 1999), will deliver a public lecture titled "Global Impact One Engineer at a Time: Why we Founded Engineers Without Borders" about their journey from their time as engineering students at the University of Waterloo, to the founding of Engineers Without Borders and its global impact, and their careers since and beyond.
