The Science Behind Ebola: Free Public Lecture

The University of Waterloo is hosting a free public lecture event and panel discussion to explore the science behind the Ebola virus.

Speakers include Christine Dupont, a biology professor, who will examine the biology of the Ebola virus. She will discuss where the virus came from and how it affects the human body.

Abstract: Mihaela Vlasea, a researcher at the University of Waterloo’s Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, has developed a new additive manufacturing system capable of producing parts ranging from bone and dental implants to lightweight porous materials. She will speak about the incredible advances taking place in additive manufacturing and some of the opportunities emerging in this field.
