Engineering alum named head coach of men’s basketball

Troy Stevenson (BASc ’15, Chemical) has become the eighth full-time head coach of the University of Waterloo’s men’s basketball program.

He was the interim head coach last season after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach.

Stevenson was a member of the Waterloo Warriors basketball team for three seasons while he was a Waterloo chemical engineering student.

In an article posted on the University’s athletics and recreation site Stevenson says he is happy to represent the University in a full-time role.

“I look forward to growing with the outstanding alumni, community, and student body here at Waterloo,” he says. “I would like to thank Roly Webster and Brian Bourque for the opportunity, and I cannot wait to be back on campus and in the gym with our student-athletes.”
