Ingrid Roorda, Jay Shah and Alan Wang all have at least one thing in common - high praise for the co-operative education system during their time as undergraduate students at Waterloo Engineering.
Roorda is a fourth-year mechanical engineering student. Shah has had great success as an entrepreneur and a mentor since earning a mechatronics engineering degree in 2011. Wang graduated from computer engineering last year and now works at a Toronto technology startup.
“The skills I gained there are necessary for anywhere,” Wang says of one of his key co-op placements. “They would say, okay, this is a feature we want you to build, and I would just have to do it.”
