A professor at Waterloo Engineering was featured this week in a lengthy CBC News story about robotics and automation in the construction industry.
Carl Haas, a professor of civil and environmental engineering, weighed in based on 30 years of experience in the field, predicting that a “huge wave” of construction robotics is coming after relatively slow adoption so far of technology including 3D printing.
“It’s kind of in a renaissance right now,” said Haas, a Canada Research Chair and vice-president of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction.
