A professor at Waterloo Engineering has been named a fellow of an international organization dedicated to improving the design and development of educational materials, particularly in mathematics, science and technology.
Dr. Alexander Wong, a professor of systems design engineering, joins educators from around the world as a fellow of the International Society for Design and Development in Education.
“The need for educational materials of high quality is now widely recognized,” the society says on its website. “If the classroom is to provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment for students, the nature of the learning activities is central.”

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
