A Waterloo software engineering student and grad were part of the team that repaired HealthCare.gov, the web site used for uninsured Americans to sign up for what's known as Obamacare.
David Hu took part in the project during his final software engineering term. Pictured right, Hu graduated from Waterloo Engineering this month. Ben Komalo, a 2007
David Hu
Waterloo software engineering graduate, was working as a software engineer at Khan Academy in Vancouver when he got the call to work on the HealthCare.gov site.
In all, there were as many as 50 people on the team working with U.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park to fix HealthCare.gov to try and hit the Obama administration’s target of seven million enrolments by March 31.
The Financial Post published an article about the contributions of Hu,Komalo and another Canadian to the project.
Komalo has since returned to Khan Academy and Hu will soon move to Silicon Valley to join Khan Academy there.
