A student at Waterloo Engineering has won a $1,000 scholarship through a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Sahil Kale, who is studying mechatronics engineering, is one of 50 winners across Canada, and one of four winners across campus at the University of Waterloo, recognized by the RCAF Foundation based on answers to questions about themselves, their plans for a career in aviation or aerospace, and how they hope to contribute to their communties.
Kale served as the technical director and pilot when the Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG), a 90-member student team, competed in a national competition for unmanned aerial vehicles in Manitoba last month.
The other Waterloo winners are Ruby Hopkins and Kyra Jarvis of the science and aviation program, and Kaden Lac, a geography and aviation student.
