“I'm so pleased to see such strong global ranking results for our engineering programs," said Mary Wells, the dean of Waterloo Engineering. "I am also very proud of our faculty and students, who make it all happen with their commitment to engineering education and research.”

Electrical engineering held down the 48th spot, with mechanical engineering coming in at 76th and chemical engineering at 78th. Civil engineering and architecture were both ranked between 51st and 100th.

QS ranked universities in five broad categories, as well as 51 individual subjects within those categories. Other disciplines at Waterloo Engineering weren’t covered by the rankings.

Campus-wide, the University of Waterloo landed 15 subjects in the top 100.
