Dr. Marlene Epp, Professor of History and Peace and Conflict Studies at Conrad Grebel has been named interim dean at the College beginning January 4, 2016. Dr. Epp is a senior scholar with 15 years of service to Grebel, including serving as dean on two other occasions in the history of the College. As dean, her role is first and foremost to provide academic leadership to the College, with special emphasis on providing support for the many new academic hires at Grebel since 2011 (nine), and leading the search for a tenth hire in practical theology this winter term.
Dr. Epp succeeds Dr. Trevor Bechtel whose two year contract as dean expires in June of 2016. Professor Bechtel will maintain duties at the College that include teaching, supervising graduate student theses, and serving as the interim director of the Toronto Mennonite Theological Centre until the end of June.
