Your wedding day deserves a setting as special as your love! Nestled beside the creek in the corner of the University of Waterloo’s campus, Conrad Grebel University College provides a venue that will have everything you need. Our beautiful grounds, serene chapel and reputable cuisine make us the perfect choice for that special day. Conrad Grebel offers three inclusive Wedding Packages – Silver, Gold, and Platinum - designed to make your wedding planning process as enjoyable and organized as it is exciting. Overnight accommodations at our college are available to enhance the experience of hosting your wedding with us, as well as options such as a bridal brunch, wedding tastings and rehearsal dinners. 

NOTE: Our current availability is for Spring and Summer 2025, 2026, 2027, and beyond.

Our Wedding Spaces 

The Chapel

Our school chapel stands as an area of serenity and community, perfect for your special event. This timeless sanctuary, with its classic architectural charm, offers a versatile and intimate space, ideal for weddings of up to 130 people.  

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by vaulted ceilings with woodwork, which create a sense of warmth within the chapel. Sunlight filters through stained-glass windows, casting vibrant colors across the space. These windows, each depicting beautiful and symbolic scenes, enhance the chapel’s peaceful atmosphere. 

The Atrium

This area features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that invite an abundance of natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere that perfectly complements the celebratory mood of your special day. An enchanting space designed to elevate your wedding cocktail hour with a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor beauty providing a picturesque backdrop for mingling guests. 

The Dining Room

Welcome to our Dining Room, a warm and inviting space that’s perfect for your wedding celebration. This room combines classic style with a cozy atmosphere, creating a wonderful setting for your special day.  

With its comfortable decor, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service, the Dining Room offers a delightful setting for a wedding celebration that everyone will remember fondly. The dining room is perfect for groups of 70-165 people. 

The Great Hall

Welcome to the Great Hall, a versatile space that transforms from a lecture hall into a venue for your dance. This spacious room combines modern amenities with a classic charm, providing the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration. 

As you enter the Great Hall, you'll notice its expansive layout, high ceilings, stage for a DJ and ample space that allow for a lively and energetic dance floor for up to 165 people.

Silver Wedding Package: $115/pp 

This package offers a well-rounded selection of service, appetizers, starters, main courses, and dessert options suitable for a standard wedding. 

Event Space Management: 

  • Use of the Chapel, Dining Room, Great Hall and Atrium

  • A Sound Technician to assist with needs through out the day 

  • An onsite coordinator to help with the flow of the day 

  • 2 site visits prior to the big day 

  • Use of an onsite apartment for 2 nights, sleeps 4 people and can be used for storage of goods, getting ready, staying overnight etc.  

  • Use of space for rehearsal ceremony and set up the night before 

Catering Services: 

  • Water Service at Tables and Punch Station 

  • Beginnings: 3 different platters, placed out for guests to enjoy 

  • Meal Starters: Choice of soup or salad, and bread on the tables 

  • Main Entrees: One main entree choice, dietary restrictions will still be accommodated 

  • Dessert: Plated Cake brought in by the couple 

Gold Wedding Package: $125/pp 

This package offers a variety of appetizers along with both soup and salad options to begin the meal, appealing to guests who enjoy a generous selection of dishes. 

Event Space Management: 

  • Use of the Chapel, Dining Room, Great Hall and Atrium 

  • A Sound Technician to assist with needs through out the day 

  • An onsite coordinator to help with the flow of the day 

  • 2 site visits prior to the big day 

  • Use of an onsite apartment for 2 nights, sleeps 4 people and can be used for storage of goods, getting ready, staying overnight etc.  

  • Use of space for rehearsal ceremony and set up the night before 

Catering Services: 

  • Punch and Water Service at Tables  

  • Beginnings: Selection of 2 cold and 1 hot appetizer, placed out for Guests to enjoy 

  • Meal Starters: Bread, Soup and salad combination 

  • Main Entrees: One main entree choice, dietary restrictions will still be accommodated 

  • Dessert: Plated Cake from Conrad Grebel's Baker 

  • Coffee and Tea Station 

Platinum Wedding Package: $140/pp 

This package provides an array of appetizers and a combination of soup and salad for meal starters and choice of main entrees, catering to guests who prefer a wide variety of choices. 

Event Space Management: 

  • Use of the Chapel, Dining Room, Great Hall and Atrium 

  • A Sound Technician to assist with needs through out the day 

  • An onsite coordinator to help with the flow of the day 

  • 2 site visits prior to the big day 

  • Use of an onsite apartment for 2 nights, sleeps 4 people and can be used for storage of goods, getting ready, staying overnight etc.  

  • Use of space for rehearsal ceremony and set up the night before

  • Punch and Water Service at Tables 

  • Beginnings: Selection of 2 Hot Appetizers and 2 Cold Appetizers Passed to Guests

Wedding Package FAQ

What wedding sizes can you accommodate? 

Our minimum guest count is 70 people. We can accommodate up to 130 guests with a ceremony in the chapel, or up to 165 with a ceremony in the dining room. 

What tech equipment do you have? 

We can provide mics, a soundboard and speakers. We do need to have a Grebel tech-trained coordinator to run this equipment, which is included in your package. If you have any questions about additional tech requirements, please speak to Laura. 
 

Can I put decorations up? 

Of course! You can put decorations up the morning of your wedding. We just ask that you clear the decorations by the evening of the wedding or by 12pm the next day.  
 

I understand you are a student residence and academic building. Will students be staying during wedding dates? How is this coordinated? 

That’s right! We have a student residence and academic program. While we cannot guarantee that you won’t see students, we have planned our availability and dates strategically in slower seasons. We also make sure that students are aware of your wedding and to avoid rooms and areas you’ll be using. If there are students needing dinner, they will not be using the Dining Room. We will serve them in another location at Grebel, away from the festivities.
