Are you a high school student gearing up for university? Visit the University of Waterloo and find out more about our Faculty of Engineering! Drop in on the welcome booth in Engineering 7 to pick up your event guide and start the day's activities. 

Engineering activities running throughout the day include: 

  • Information sessions:
    • Program-specific - find out more about your program of interest at an information session. Sessions run throughout the day with multiple sessions for each department (see schedule below). 
    • Admissions information session for future applicants (pre-Grade 12) - hear an overview of the admissions process and understand what will be required of you.
    • Your First Year at Waterloo Engineering - learn what your first year will look like and what supports are available to help with the transition.
    • Student experience panel  - hear from current Engineering students at the University of Waterloo and ask them your questions about student life, academics, co-op, and more!
    • Women in Engineering real talk panel and Q&A - find out what it means to be a women in engineering and ask your questions about the ups and downs of pursuing studies in a male-dominated field.
  • Tours:
    • General Engineering tours - go on a tour of the Engineering buildings, new and old, lead by a current Engineering student tour guide. These tours will depart from the Engineering 7 (E7) first floor IDEAs Clinic.
    • Women in Engineering Living-Learning Community (LLC) tours - drop in to United College for a tour of the living-learning community exclusive to women in engineering. Go directly to United College (UC) for these tours.
    • Nanotechnology Engineering lab tours - receive a tour of the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC). These tours will depart from the Nanotechnology Engineering information booth in Engineering 7 (E7).
    • Environmental, Geological, Civil, and Architectural Engineering tours - receive a tour of the labs and work spaces available for students in these programs. These tours will depart from the respective program information booths in Engineering 7 (E7).
  • Information fair - speak to representatives from all 15 Faculty of Engineering programs, cooperative education, international exchange, first year engineering office, and more! The information fair will take place on the second floor of Engineering 7 (E7).
  • Student Design Team fair - explore North America's largest student design centre as our student design teams showcase their projects. The fair will take place on the first floor of Engineering 5 (E5) in the Sedra Student Design Centre.

Engineering Information Sessions

Sessions and tours take place in Engineering 5 (E5), Engineering 7 (E7), Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC), and United College (UC). Sessions and tours for the Architecture program take place at the School of Architecture Campus (ARC), 7 Melville Street South, Cambridge.
