Posting requirements

Posting of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) information is required under Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and fire regulations.

Department Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) bulletin board(s)

These bulletin boards should be located:

• In every building where a department has significant space.
• Where posters/documents will come to the attention of employees (e.g. department office meeting area, lunch room, first aid station).
• Where there is sufficient space for documents from Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and other health, safety and environment notices.

To obtain these posters/documents, contact Safety Office at ext. 33587 or safety@uwaterloo.ca. Please identify the building and quantities needed.

General faculty/department space (office, laboratories, shops and studios)

The following posters should be located throughout buildings and work areas near common phones and room exits:

Department meeting rooms

The following poster should be located in department meeting rooms, located next to room exit.

Faculty/department classroom space (Registrar's Office handles their classroom space)

The following poster should be located in wall mounted frames (available through Plant Operations works request) usually located next to room exit nearest lecturer’s area in room.
