Conrad Startup Hour at the Canadian Student IIE Conference

Thursday, January 21, 2016 12:00 am - Sunday, January 24, 2016 12:00 am EST (GMT -05:00)

The Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre is pleased to host a Startup Hour at the Institute of Industrial Engineers Canadian Student Conference in Kitchener-Waterloo.

The Conrad Startup Hour is a hands-on exercise in business ideation and market validation. It challenges students to work together, think big, and push beyond their comfort zones.

Teams have to identify problems, find solutions that can be turned into viable businesses, contact potential customers, and pitch to win great prizes. Along the way, they have access to the expertise and mentorship of Conrad’s entrepreneurship and business professors.

Conrad staff and faculty will also be on hand to discuss the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) program with interested students.

About the Canadian Student IIE Conference

The theme for the 36th annual Canadian Student IIE Conference is ENVISION, EMPOWER, ENGINEER. The objective is to have everyone in attendance leave feeling motivated and ready to make a difference in the engineering community.
A series of workshops and competitions will deliver the content to help shape some of the top engineering students transitioning into young professionals. This event provides a unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents, advance their skill-sets, and network with industry leaders.
