Explore the exciting field of engineering through this special event for girls!  Meet women currently studying engineering, learn about some of the amazing things women engineers are doing, and participate in a cool hands-on activity.  Go Eng Girl is an exciting opportunity for Grade 7 - 10 girls across Ontario to visit their local university to learn about the wonderful world of engineering: "A Caring Profession".

Admission is free! 

Registration opens August 31, 2013. Please register online, and complete the parental permission form and bring it with you to the event.

Go ENG Girl is an event that every school of engineering across the province hosts for girls in Grades 7,8,9 and 10 in October of each year.  The Waterloo event will include speakers, a parent panel of existing students, a showcase information fair, opportunities to meet current female Waterloo Engineering students, cool hands-on activities, and a delicious free lunch!  The only cost to attend will be transportation to the University of Waterloo.

Free parking will be available in parking lot B (see campus map)

Time Activity Location and notes
9:00 a.m. Registration takes place in the Davis Centre (DC) fishbowl. Your permission form must be completed to participate. Activities take place DC and Engineering 5 (E5). Review the campus map and driving directions to campus.
9:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Welcome and introduction session in DC, room: 1350 Introduction by Mary Wells, Associate Dean of Engineering Outreach, and welcome by Pearl Sullivan, Dean of Engineering
9:50 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. Keynote Speaker in DC, room: 1350 Allyson Francis, undergraduate
student from the  Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics at the University of Waterloo
10:10 a.m. to 11:45 .a.m

Parents/guardians will move to E5, room: 3101 and listen to a speaker from the industry. Opportunity for questions and answers (Q&A) will be provided to discuss admissions requirements, campus life, academics and more. 

Girls will go to the Student Design Centre (SDC) to participate on hands-on activities.

11:45 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Parents and guardians visit students to see the cool creations they've made!
