Toronto-based robotics sensing company Forcen has closed $8.35 million in a funding round to support the expansion of its prototype manufacturing operations.
Founded in 2015 by Waterloo Engineering alum Robert Brooks (BASc ’12, mechanical and mechatronics engineering), Forcen manufactures a digital sense of touch for high reliability robotics in medical, industrial and aerospace applications.
The company said in an article that it will use the investment to support more customers and continue developing its touch-tech for robots.
The round was co-led by Brightspark Ventures and BDC Capital’s Deep Tech Venture Fund with participation from Garage Capital, MaRS IAF and returning investors including EmergingVC.
This round brings Forcen’s total equity funding raised to date to $12.95 million.
