Architecture grad honoured by Female Frontier Awards

Waterloo architecture alumnus Alison Books received high commendation in this year’s Female Frontier Awards sponsored by World Architecture News.

Brooks (BES '85 and BArch '88) was recognized in the Architect of the Year category.

This is the latest of many honours for Brooks who was named 2020’s Architect of the Year by Dezeen, an influential architecture and design online

magazine based in London, England. She was a recipient of the Faculty of Engineering’s Alumni Achievement Medal for Professional Achievement in 2014.

Alison Books received high commendation in this year’s Female Frontier Awards.

Her practice, Alison Brooks Architects, was founded 25 years ago in London, England. It’s described as a ground-breaking, ethically driven practice internationally recognized for design excellence.

The Female Frontier Awards celebrate talented and visionary women at every level across the architecture profession.
