Dean, lecturer offer advice to engineering graduates

Wednesday, June 16, 2021

Two faculty members at Waterloo Engineering – Dean Mary Wells and Nadine Ibrahim, a civil and environmental engineering lecturer – added their voices this year to an annual publication given to graduating engineering students.

Letters to a Young Engineer, which is produced by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, features dozens of pieces from professionals offering congratulations, inspiration and advice to the next generation of engineers.

The book also includes letters from three alumni – former faculty members Susan Tighe (MASc ’97, PhD ’00, civil) and the late Ralph Haas (PhD ’68, civil), and Carl Turkstra (PhD ’63, civil) – with deep ties to Waterloo Engineering.

Go to Letters to young engineers for the letters by Wells and Ibrahim.
