A memorial will be held next year to celebrate the life of Khal Soudki who died September 17, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
The civil and environmental engineering professor was an internationally- renowned leader in the field of reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures. Soudki's work focused on the repair of deteriorated structures with minimal cost, time and complexity. His research contributions over the last 20 years included patents, and articles in many journal and conference publications.
The memorial, to take place in late February/early March 2014, will include technical presentations by some of Soudki's former students, colleagues’ reflections on his personal and professional life, and various dedications, including a memorial donation opportunity. Further details on the service, including timing and location, will be available in January. To be included on the invitation list contact Trenny McGinnis, civil and environmental engineering's administrative officer.
