For the second year in a row, Waterloo Engineering’s Department of Management Science and Engineering (MSE) has earned a spot among the finalists for a prestigious international award celebrating top-tier student preparation in operations research, management science, and analytics.
The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) announced the finalists for the 2025 UPS George D. Smith Prize yesterday, naming the University of Waterloo as one of three recognized programs. The other finalists include the Georgia Institute of Technology's Master of Science in Analytics and the National University of Singapore's Master of Science in Business Analytics.
"These finalists represent the pinnacle of academic excellence in operations research and analytics education," said Anne Robinson, chair of the UPS George D. Smith Prize Committee, in a press release.
The winner will be announced on Monday, April 7, at the 2025 INFORMS Analytics+ Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.
