New students receive Ted Rogers scholarships

Nine incoming students to the Faculty of Engineering have been awarded prestigious Ted Rogers scholarships. These scholarships recognize academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to driving positive change, while supporting underrepresented groups in engineering and technology.

Ted Rogers Legacy Scholarship Recipients

Valued at $100,000 over four years, these scholarships were awarded through the national Rogers program, with Waterloo’s selection emphasizing women entering their first year of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science. The recipients have excelled academically and demonstrated exceptional leadership and extracurricular achievements:

  • Thuvaragan Prathifkumar, Computer Engineering
  • Nikki Rana, Systems Design Engineering
  • Ryan Nguyen, Computer Engineering
  • Pari Vansjalia, Software Engineering

Ted Rogers Future Leader Scholarship Recipients

These $26,800 scholarships over four years were awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence, community leadership, and financial need, with a focus on underrepresented groups. Recipients from Waterloo’s Faculty of Engineering include:
