A chemical engineering professor has been recognized as an Emerging Investigator by a leading international journal for his innovative research in materials science.
Dr. Milad Kamkar received the honour from Materials Horizons for his contributions to soft matter engineering. As director of the Multiscale Materials Design Center, Kamkar leads a research team developing nanomaterial- and polymer-based hydrogels and aerogels with novel morphologies to support applications such as electromagnetic shielding, wastewater treatment and carbon capture. His work integrates advanced materials processing with a focus on environmental sustainability.
“It’s a tremendous honour to be recognized as an Emerging Investigator by Materials Horizons,” said Kamkar. “This is a highly impactful journal, and I am truly grateful to be selected among other distinguished candidates. Being acknowledged in this way is a significant milestone in my career—particularly given that publishing in this journal alone is a notable achievement.”
Kamkar was also recently named a recipient of the Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering Early Investigator Award by the American Chemical Society.
