A fourth-year mechanical and mechatronics engineering student has won first place at a prestigious international fluid mechanics conference.

Connor Pryce earned first place in the Student Poster Competition at the 2024 American Physical Society’s Division of Fluid Dynamics conference in November. Held in Salt Lake City, Utah, his poster was chosen as the best among entries from leading institutions worldwide.

Pryce collaborated with Lanyu Li, a second-year Waterloo PhD student, and Dr. Jared Whitehead, a mathematician from Brigham Young University, to create the award-winning poster. Their research, initiated in Dr. Zhao Pan’s Advanced Engineering Mathematics course, was later published in Experiments in Fluids.
