The impact of entrepreneurship and co-operative education programs – two of the core strengths at Waterloo Engineering - is highlighted in a comprehensive new report on the University of Waterloo.

Deloitte Canada found companies supported by entrepreneurship programs at the University generated over $2 billion in revenue in about decade, while co-op students helped the companies that hired them realize more than $500 million in net returns last year alone.

“We’ve long been aware of the significant impact that Waterloo’s co-op and entrepreneurship programs are having beyond our campus,” said Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of Waterloo. “What this report demonstrates is that our focus on experiential education and entrepreneurship are not only good for students, they’re good for the local and national economy.”
