Waterloo ranks sixth globally for telecommunication engineering

Waterloo has placed sixth in the world for telecommunication engineering in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2017.

Telecommunications engineering, centered on electrical and computer engineering, supports and enhances telecommunication systems. The work ranges from basic circuit design to strategic mass developments.

The ShanghaiRanking Consultancy is an independent organization dedicating to research on higher education intelligence and consultation. It has been the official publisher of the Academic Ranking of World Universities since 2009.

In this year's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, institutions are ranked in 52 subjects across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.
