Feburary 7, 2022
As part of our FYDP/Capstone 2022 spotlights, we’re excited to introduce Team 4 from Biomedical Engineering: Hamza Arshad, Jinhwan Lew, Cierra Jagan, Ruihan Wei, and Jennifer Yu and their project “: Vision”!
Can you explain your project in one sentence?
Our team is trying to visualize the contraction patterns of the colon in a non-invasive way by using ultrasound and leveraging image processing and AI.
What has been the best part of your project so far?
It’s been very cool seeing how the concepts we’ve learned over our undergraduate career can be applied to our problem space. It’s been really fun working in a team with a diverse set of skills and working with mentors and collaborators who are leading experts in their field.
What is the biggest challenge you've faced during your project?
The pandemic has been the most challenging aspect of the project. We’ve had to be inventive and flexible when it comes to data collection and testing. However, we’ve addressed this challenge by staying in close contact with each other and our collaborators.
What's next for your team members once you're finished?
Our team members are going to be working full-time at different companies, returning to previous co-ops, or starting grad school!
