"I want to argue against the idea that the presence of the Spirit in our story means that we’ve got it right and others have it wrong," explains Bergen. "The Spirit works in more complicated ways. I claim that Anabaptism should be understood primarily as a reform movement within the wider church. This reminds us that we believe we have something to say to other Christians, and need to nurture those relationships. But we also need to ask what we might learn from them. Furthermore, as a reform movement, we should also examine ourselves and consider where reform and renewal might be needed in our own churches."
