The tenth anniversary of the MPACS program at Grebel and the University of Waterloo was celebrated on March 4, 2023. The celebration event brought together upwards of 80 guests, including 42 alumni and most of the faculty and staff involved in the program’s establishment, growth, and mission during the last decade.

Garden Is a Symbol of Faith and Hope

Supporting Grebel programs and capital campaigns has always been a priority for Grebel alumna Anita (Lehn) Tiessen (BA 1981) (second from right in photo) and her late husband Bob Tiessen (BMath 1974).

Grebel’s student leadership and residence life are unimaginable without international students. Grebel is committed to developing a more culturally representative student body in residence and leadership roles. At the core, this initiative is about building belonging and celebrating diversity in the community.  

While it is undeniable that OMMC is filled with fun — including campfires, ensembles, recreation games, and musical productions — the people who run the camp make all the difference. That is why Mykayla Turner and Emily Rempel have been chosen as the co-directors of the 2023 OMMC season.

Grebel Spirit at Grandma's Table

“When we came to Grebel, although the Grebel meals are fantastic, we still missed spending time at Grandma’s,” said Owen and Adam Roth. That is why Grandma Leola Roth was more than delighted to host suppers on Saturday nights for the Roth cousins and their friends. “Our goal has become to invite all sorts of Grebelites to Grandma’s for dinner in the same way that the Fill-the-Table tradition brings random Grebelites together!”

Dr. Eric Lepp will join Conrad Grebel University College as Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) on July 1, 2023, becoming the College’s newest tenure-track faculty member. With expertise in conflict transformation, theories and practices of nonviolence and resistance, and peace and social justice movements, Lepp brings experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to this role at Grebel and the University of Waterloo.
