On November 7th, four students flew from Waterloo down to Wichita Kansas to attend the annual Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) convention. Sponsored by Conrad Grebel and the local MEDA chapter, Jono Cullar, Sarah MacKeil, Drew Warkentin, and Eric Tichbourne were able to attend the 4 day convention and engage with the work being done by MEDA and their supporters, as well as compete in a case competition against teams from other Universities.

The Canadian launch of Branch: A Memoir with Pictures by celebrated Anabaptist-Mennonite storyteller John L. Ruth, takes place at Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo at 7:30 pm on November 28.

Sound in the Land 2014 will explore music and the environment while discovering new Mennonite perspectives. This event is a sequel to the highly successful Sound in the Lands 2009 which explored Mennonite music across borders and boundaries, and Sound in the Land 2004 which dealt with Mennonite musical diversities.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Peace Studies between Tradition and Innovation.”
This school year marks Conrad Grebel University College’s 50th anniversary! As Grebel welcomed new students from coast to coast into residence and resumed teaching a variety of liberal arts courses at the University of Waterloo, the College community reflected on what has sustained the College in its first 50 years and what could be done to ensure another strong 50 years.
