Jessica (Jessie) Reesor Rempel graduated from the University of Waterloo with a major in Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) and a minor in Psychology (2011). Part way through her studies she spent a year in Laos as part of a PACS Internship. After graduation, Jessica served as Program Manager for the Circle of Friends Program with Mennonite Central Committee Ontario before entering the MDiv program at Emmanual College at the Toronto School of Theology (completed in 2016). As part of the MDiv program, Jessica engaged in an 8-month Chaplaincy Internship at Parkwood Mennonite Home. Jessica is the co-founder of the non-profit organization Pastors in Exile (PiE) which provides community based spiritual care to young adults in Waterloo Region. She was ordained by Mennonite Church Eastern Canada in 2019. Jessica returned to Grebel as the Interim Chaplain in August of 2021 and transitioned into the role of Director of Student Services on October 1, 2023.
