Purpose
This online training module outlines the basic principles of working safely with radioactive equipment and devices.
Who should take this course?
This module is for individuals working with sealed radioactive sources (e.g., anti-static devices, neutron probes, check sources). If you do not know what type of radiation you are working with, contact your supervisor prior to starting this course.
Duration
1 hour
Training content
By the end of this training module, you should be able to:
- Contrast the three different types of radiation
- Understand the effects of radiation exposure
- Identify types of sealed sources
- Know how to respond in case of emergency
- Understand your responsibilities as per the Radiation Safety Program
Additional required training
Further radiation training is dependent on the equipment/device. Complete the form at the end of this training module and the RSO will respond with further information.
