Accessing employee health & safety training records in Safety Spectrum
Employee health and safety training is managed in Safety Spectrum.
Please note: Safety Spectrum is primarily intended to track the safety training of regular employees. To check training records for students that are on RA, TA, Co-op, or other casual term-based employment, you should use the online reporting tool described below. This is due to the fact that students will often complete online safety training before they are hired in part-time or short-term positions. Any training taken before they are hired will not migrate to Workday or Safety Spectrum.
Accessing student training records using the Safety Training Reporting Tool
**Please note that if you are working remotely you will need to log into the VPN to access the reporting tool.**
Instructions for using the reporting tool
Any employee can look up a student's training records using the Safety Training Reporting Tool. Students are not able to look up their own safety training records.
Visitors/volunteers/post-docs
Records for these groups are not kept on Workday or on the University of Waterloo Report Server. It is the responsibility of the hosting department to keep and maintain records of safety training.
Documenting training records
The University maintains training records for training provided by the Safety Office.
Departments and supervisors are required to document and store any training records for the site/task-specific training that they have delivered.
Refer to the site-specific training form for assistance.
