Open Quantum Computing, One Atom at a Time

In this public talk, we'll discuss how to build quantum computing devices one atom a time using the ion-trap approach. We'll show how we build quantum bits out of individually isolated atoms, explore how we use them to simulate other complex systems, and showcase how we're building open-access hardware to advance research in this exciting field.

Waterloo RoboHub Spring Symposium

Join us on campus on April 4th for a full-day symposium: an interdisciplinary event where a variety of people and organizations across the private and public sectors will come together to discuss and learn about the opportunities and challenges provided by robotics over the coming 5-10 years.

Building a Connective Ethnography with Children Engaged in the Digital Age

Children are seeking their place in contemporary digital cultures, notably through the use of mobile devices, playing a variety of games with friends and accessing social networking platforms, resulting in interconnected performances in the digital setting. Therefore, it was necessary to base this lecture on connective ethnography to track the interactions of a group of children between physical and digital spaces during playtime with peers.
